🌍 Why It’s Different:

  • Hands-on, action-based learning—not just theory.

  • Built-in accountability—participants take real steps toward their goals.

  • Bridging the wealth & knowledge gap—so no teen feels left behind.

Our Story

We grew up figuring it out.

That’s what you do when you're the kid of immigrants.

While our American-born classmates were getting help from their parents—someone to edit their college essays, explain how credit cards worked, or make a phone call to set up that first internship—we were on our own.

Not because our parents didn’t care. They cared more than anyone. They were just busy doing the impossible—working long hours, holding down multiple jobs, making sure we had food on the table and a roof over our heads. They sacrificed everything so we could have a chance at something better.

But survival doesn’t leave a lot of time for strategy.
There was no playbook. No networking connections. No one telling us how to build credit, apply for grants, or start a business.

So we learned the hard way.
We stumbled, we struggled. We felt behind. We watched our friends get ahead with the kind of help we didn’t even know how to ask for.

And yet, we figured it out.
We worked hard. We supported each other. We hustled our way into the rooms we wanted to be in.

And now? Now we know the path.
Now we see the shortcuts, the smarter moves, the better questions to ask.
And we don’t want to keep that to ourselves.

We created Empower U because we know what it feels like to be the kid who’s left out of the conversation. The one who doesn’t even know what questions to ask. We’re here to change that.

To create a space where immigrant youth can get real answers, real mentorship, and real support.
To make sure no teen ever feels like they’re too far behind to catch up.
To give families the tools to not just survive here—but thrive.

Because this is an incredible country. And everyone deserves a shot at the dream.

Just like we got ours.
